新しいブログ投稿へようこそ。このシリーズでは、Sky Talkの講師を深堀りしていきます。今日は私たちのスター講師、Belle先生に話を聞いてみたいと思います。

Belle先生は10年以上にわたり、スカイトークチームの重要な一員であり、生徒たちが英語をマスターする旅路において欠かせない存在となっています。

年月を経て、ベル先生は多くの生徒が初めて英会話に躊躇しながら一歩を踏み出すところから、流暢さと自信を持って話すまでを導いてきました。

今回のインタビューでは、Belle先生がSky Talkでの経験について語ってくれました。

Q: Sky Talkで教え始めてからどのくらいの時間が経ちますか？
A: 2010年の4月にSky Talkで教え始めました。もう10年以上経ちますね！

Q: 教えてきた生徒たちはどのような進歩を遂げてきましたか？
A: 生徒それぞれですが、一部は10年以上通っていただいている生徒もいます。その間に、彼らが完全な初心者から自立した英語話者へと進化するのを見てきました。特に定期的に復習し、勤勉な生徒たちは大幅に英語スキルは向上しています。

Q: あなたの教育哲学は何ですか？
A: 私の教育アプローチは、英語学習を個々の生徒に対してパーソナライズすることです。生徒が必要としていることや楽しんでいることを見つけ出し、それらの領域を深ぼって、英語というコミュニケーションツールを使って練習します。これにより、生徒は自分の趣味や興味を追求しながら、英語のコミュニケーションスキルも向上させることができます。それで一石二鳥の状況を作りたいのです。

Q: オンラインで英語を学ぶためのヒントはありますか？
A: まず、定期的なリスニング練習が非常に有効です。そんなに大層なものではないです。生徒には、毎朝と夕方に5分間ずつ英語の素材 (ニュースでも!) を聞くことを勧めています。これにより、英語を吸収し、慣れるのに役立ちます。

また、3～6ヶ月間にわたって集中して毎日1～2回のクラスを受けることも、段階的なスキルアップに役立ちます。

さらに、オンライン英会話クラスの外でも英語をカジュアルに話せる相手もいたらなおさら良いです。

最後に、忍耐力が重要です。完全な初心者でも、時間をかければ大きな進歩を遂げることができますが、それには学習過程への勤勉さとコミットメントが必要です。

Q: Sky Talkで働く以外に何をしていますか？
A: 教育と教授活動に関与しております。私は数学の教材やテスト問題を作成する仕事もしています。また、副業として文章の添削も行っています。

Q: 趣味は何ですか？
A: 旅行が最大の趣味です。それは私にとってはライフスタイルの一種です。私は旅行中に芸術、文化、食べ物、言語について学ぶのが好きです。これまで、主にアジアを旅行してきました。

Q: 日本でお気に入りの場所はありますか？
A: もちろん！鎌倉と横浜は本当に魅力的だと感じました。

Interview Spotlight: Meet Teacher Belle, Sky Talk’s Star Teacher

Welcome to our new blog post, where we’re deep-diving into our teachers at Skytalk. Today, we’ll be stepping into the virtual classroom of our star teacher, Belle. An integral part of our team for over a decade, Belle has been instrumental in our students’ journeys to mastering English.

Over the years, Belle has guided many students from their first hesitant steps in English conversation to fluency and confidence. Her unique teaching philosophy, focused on personalization and integrating students’ interests, has set many on the path of lifelong learning and progress.

Here’s what our star teacher, Belle, has to share about her experience at Sky Talk in this spotlight interview.

Q: How long have you been teaching at Sky Talk?
A: I started teaching at Sky Talk in April of 2010. That’s more than a decade now!

Q: What’s been the typical progress you’ve seen in your longer-term students?
A: I have been teaching some students for about ten years now. Over time, I have seen them move from being absolute beginners to becoming independent language speakers. The improvement is tremendous, particularly for students who study regularly and are diligent.

Q: What is your teaching philosophy?
A: My teaching approach is to make English learning personalized. I try to identify what the student needs and what they enjoy, and then we work on those areas using English as a communication tool. This allows students to cultivate their hobbies and interests as they also improve on their English communication skills. It’s like a win-win situation.

Q: Do you have any tips for learning English online?
A: For starters, regular listening practice can be really beneficial. I advise students to listen to English materials for five minutes every morning and evening. This helps to absorb the language and get familiar with it. Taking one or two classes a day over a period of three to six months also helps in gradual language development.

Also, finding a speaking partner outside of online classes can be a good way to get additional practice, especially in a less formal, more conversational setting.

Finally, it’s important to be patient. Even complete beginners can make significant progress over time, but it requires diligence and commitment to the learning process.

Q: Besides working at Sky Talk, what do you do?
A: I like to keep myself engaged with education and teaching. I have a part-time job where I prepare lesson materials and test questionnaires for math. I also do proofreading as a side job.

Q: What about your hobbies?
A: Traveling is my biggest hobby. It’s more of a lifestyle for me. I enjoy learning about art, culture, food, and languages during my travels. So far, I have traveled mostly in Asia.

Q: Do you have any favorite places in Japan?
A: Definitely! I found Kamakura and Yokohama truly fascinating.

Q: Anything you want to say for people who may want to join Sky Talk?
